Critical conversations on including the faith community in the Opioid Public Health Crisis.

As the opioid crisis deepens, so must the response of the church, the most underutilized resource in our community. Communities of faith and houses of worship of all faiths are in a unique position to help educate families about the disease of addiction, the stigma, talk about prevention, and to be a conduit to recovery. We play an invaluable role of providing support to families who have lost loved ones and to those suffering from this disease. It is time to embrace those recovering from addiction and to nurture their spirits helping them achieve their God given potential in a judgment free environment. We must we willing to speak openly, honestly and continually about this subject. We ask all leaders of the faith community, chaplains, youth ministries, addiction counselors and social agencies in Indianapolis and surrounding counties to attend.
