Julie Sommers Neuman — America’s Immigration Crisis

July 17, 2019

7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Dining Room

Free

On July 17th, IPJC will present Julie Sommers Neuman, Executive Director of Coalition for Our Immigrant Neighbors (COIN) to discuss the current crisis at our southern border, and the realities of immigration here in Indiana.

An attorney with practical experience helping those seeking asylum here, she can help us understand the tension between the U.S. as a historical nation of immigrants and the current political uproar.

For those interested, through the end of June at the Indiana Interchurch Center, COIN is hosting “Images from the Border: Here and There,” an exhibit of items left along the southern border. Groups of ten or more can schedule a guided tour to learn some of the stories attached to these artifacts. Contact j.sommers-neuman@gmail.com or 317-690-7279. Both the discussion on July 17 and the exhibit are free and open to the public.
