Epilepsy Foundation of Indiana — “WALK TO END EPILEPSY HELD AT TAPAWINGO PARK”

Marvin Bills, WLFI, October 19, 2019
The Epilepsy Foundation of Indiana held its annual Walk to End Epilepsy on Saturday.

The nationwide Walk to End Epilepsy took over Tapawingo Park Saturday morning.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Indiana organized the event.

People attending weren’t only educated by those impacted by epilepsy, they were also encouraged to support the Epilepsy Foundation’s fundraising efforts and help in raising awareness about epilepsy.

According to the Epilepsy Foundation, one in ten people will have a seizure, and one in 26 will be diagnosed with epilepsy.

Executive Director for the Epilepsy Foundation of Indiana, Ryan Keys, said this event is important not only to educate but to raise awareness and support.

“People need to realize that there are so many people that are impacted,” said Keys. “It needs to be normalized. They’re everyday people. They can do regular things it’s a regular part of life.”

The Epilepsy Foundation had a goal to reach $10,000 today. They surpassed that goal by $4,000. To learn more on this foundation and how you can support it click here.
